Brooklyn Museum & Exploring Park Slope
We got into the city in the early morning and spent the day exploring Park Slope and the Brooklyn Museum. The museum had some great exhibits and the building itself is beautiful. We took a nighttime walk through Prospect Park.
Natural History Museum & The Met
We traveled into Manhattan to see the Natural History Museum and the Met. I walked just under 14 miles. My knees exploded somewhere around mile 7. We got Eric his first slice of NYC pizza and then got the best cupcakes I have ever had in my life.
Brooklyn Botanic Garden & Brooklyn Bridge
The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is free on Saturday mornings and it was absolutely beautiful. It’s massive and not crowded in the early morning. We also tackled the Brooklyn Bridge.
Coney Island & Brighton Beach
We hit Coney Island in the early morning and we loved it. We played too much ski-ball and won a key chain and Eric’s weight in candy. We also did the Wonder Wheel, which is the tallest ferris wheel in the world, and TERRIFYING. We spent the afternoon running around on Brighton Beach. It’s stunning.
Top of the Rock & Late Night w/ Seth Meyers
On our last day in New York, we planned to take a few pictures in Rockefeller Center and then take a walk through central park. Eric ended up surprising me with tickets to Top of the Rock which was stunning. (hi thanks eric). While walking through the NBC store (gotta get that Law and Order: SVU merch), an intern offered us free tickets to Seth Meyers’ Late Show monologue rehearsal! We weren’t allowed to take pictures (thanks NBC) but we got to hang out in the Late Show studio and watch the show come together, it was so cool (no seriously, thanks NBC.)
We did so much in between all of these photos too. We walked over 100,000 steps while in the city and ate like… 12 too many cupcakes. This trip to New York was exhausting, but so worth it.
